On May 4th 1598 Don Juan De Onate crossed the Rio Grande right at the present location of La Hacienda. Three monuments are in place in the gardens on the grounds of the restaurant, thus making the site the TRUE FIRST PLYMOuTH ROCK a fact that the English texbooks conveniently forget. There are five large rooms that can be sectioned off for private meetings or celebrations. Three large bars are on the property, one of which is on the patio which a stage overlooks. The patio has had great success as being chosen to host weddings, reunions, local, charity and seasonal parties. El Paso's mild climate lends itself to virtually year round use. The adobe building helps regulate the low utiility cost.
